OUR VISION
That the world would look in on us and say,
"See how they love one another".

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10 Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST

The true man of God is heartsick, grieved at the worldliness of the Church, grieved at the toleration of sin in the Church, grieved at the prayerlessness in the Church. He is disturbed that the corporate prayer of the

Church no longer pulls down the strongholds of the devil.   Leonard Ravenhill on Tolerance

Does anyone have any concern for the direction our nation and the world seems to be going in? I listen to the news, check Facebook, go to the Drudge Report on the internet and ask myself, “What is truth?”

It is very hard to understand how and why so many people are deceived and seem to lack any common sense – which seems today to be the least common of all. In my opinion, the solution to the problem is not more rules and regulations but educating and raising our youth with values that include honesty, responsibility, etc. I am reminded of the times my mom and dad spanked me….without a doubt I know they did this because they loved me and wanted me to grow up with a sense of responsibility and a knowledge of right and wrong.

Regardless of what our Post Modern Society would have you believe there are absolutes, there is right and wrong and not all cultures and ways of life are equal – some are better than others. Sorry for being politically incorrect but I have decided that politically incorrect is more often than not correct.

Below are a couple of links that might give you some insight into what is (1) and what was (2)

MOSES WAS CALLED BY GOD AND HE WAS OBEDIENT

‘Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian.  And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.  And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush.  So he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed.  Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.”  So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”  And he said, “Here I am.”  Exodus 3:1-4

Moses was leading and watching over his father-in-law's sheep, minding his own business, just wandering along the trails with the sheep as he was their shepherd (vs. 1).  All of a sudden, there was a bush along the trail that was bright with a flame of fire…YET…the bush was not being burned up…it was not being consumed by the fire (vs. 2).  Not an everyday occurrence, was it!  When I throw a piece of wood in my woodstove, that piece of wood is consumed by the fire and all that is left is ashes…this is normally what happens with wood if it is on fire whether it is a log or a bush.  The reason for this miracle, is that the Angel of the Lord was there.  If you recall what you have read in your Bible, the flame of fire was often evidence of God’s presence in the Old Testament…used here as a good attention-getter for mankind/Moses.  Would you notice it?

Now, Moses didn’t turn and run away, nor did he kick dirt over it to put it out.  We are told that he actually purposely turned aside to check it out (vs. 3).  Then what happened?  God called to Moses…and then Moses spoke up and acknowledged His call (not like some people today who just ignore when God calls their name--you aren’t one of them, are you?).  True, God doesn’t need to create this amazing site of ‘non-consumed burning bush’ to get our attention today…yet, we all need to be tuned into hearing Him when He speaks to us and to being obedient in our response along with following through on what He asks of us.  Not like the parable Jesus told His followers of the man who had two sons and asked each of them to go out in his vineyard and work…one refusing and who later went, the other saying he would go and then not going--(read Matthew 21:28-32).  God told us that our “Yes” should mean yes and our “No” should mean no…words are not enough if the actions don’t follow through with what you said you would do…we are to be obedient to the Word of God.  Oops, went off on a bit of a tangent...let's return to Moses.

Our next verse is God telling Moses that the area where He was standing was holy ground because God’s presence was there.  ‘Then He said, “Do not draw near this place.  Take your sandals off your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground.”’ (vs. 5)  Imagine the honor of being in the presence of our Creator…BUT, anytime we kneel and bow down to speak with our God, we are in His presence, for our Lord and Savior is our intercessor every time we go in prayer to God…What an awesome privilege we are blessed with.  God told Moses that He would be with him when he goes to Pharaoh to ‘bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.’  (Why not take the time and read this Chapter in Exodus so you are ready for our message tomorrow?)

MY DISCLAIMER:

I probably do not agree with everything that anyone has to say, nor have I ever totally agreed with anyone I have met in life. This probably includes you. And there probably isn't anyone out there who agrees with everything I believe or have to say either. I am not your spiritual father, teacher, and definitely not your Lord or the Holy Spirit, nor am I your priest (See Matt23:8-10, Heb3:1, 1Peter2:9, etc). If I only referenced sources that I considered perfect, then I probably wouldn't be able to reference any, including my own. Now that I have said that, I do believe there is truth to be found in every teaching I do. It is up to you and the Holy Spirit in you to discern what is good, and to ponder or reject the rest. So, that is all I have to say about that, thus ending my disclaimer.
